Mechanical Systems
Heating systems, whether wet for offices or air handling for warehouses
can be specifically tailored to suit your individual requirements,
taking account of the environment within which they are to operate.
We can inform you on both capital costs and the on-going operating
and maintenance costs when designing your mechanical system.
Air
conditioning in the UK is becoming evermore popular AND affordable.
Many of our office refurbishment contracts now include air conditioning
systems of some description. These mechanical systems take many forms, ceiling
mounted cassettes can be integrated within the new suspended
ceiling, individual split systems can work well for smaller
areas and cooling tower fed, ducted systems are ideal for large,
multi-level buildings.
We can also integrate a heating system into these schemes for
only a fraction of the cost for which you would pay for a stand-alone
heating installation.

In order that compliance is maintained with current
Building Regulations, all working environments must be provided
with a degree of ventilation. That degree is usually determined
by the number of personnel working in the area and the type of activity
involved. In most cases this can be achieved by opening a window,
but what if the area has no outside walls? Mechanically forced ventilation
satisfies the requirement. By mixing fresh, outside air with ambient
internal air and changing the volume of air within an enclosure
the requirements can be met. Forcing air into an enclosure would
build up pressure, so we integrate a return air duct system to maintain
a balance. Ventilation systems can also have integrated heating
and cooling systems thereby making more efficient use of the hardware
required.

Toilets are
always needed in the workplace and are frequently overlooked
and/or under-budgeted. So too can canteen and refectory facilities.
Your workers and visitors will be grateful for a clean and hygienic
facility and you are duty bound under current legislation to
provide disabled facilities - all too often ignored.
We can guide you through the myriad options and necessities
to enable you to achieve the type of installation appropriate
for your business. "Does the nightshift have need of showering
facilities?" "Do you combine the disabled and able-bodied
facility?" "What sanitary wear do we really need?"
These are all questions with which we can help you.
Plumbing works are integrated in the mechanical services. Boilers
need gas supplied to heat water for use within the toilets and
for the heating systems; pipes need to carry water to specific
points located around the building; waste needs to be removed
into the drainage system. All these considerations their available
routes and more are taken into account when designing and installing
pipework.

Electrical Systems
When designing a new office layout in particular, we give careful
consideration to the numbers and positions of personnel, together
with their interaction with other company departments and the
company business machines, many of which nowadays are networked.
We will provide single or 3ph power as necessary, run and connect
data cabling and communication circuits and integrate smoke,
fire and intruder alarm systems. That's in addition to all the
associated works required with the Mechanical trades.
